Physiology with Flow Image Competition
The German Physiological Society and the Scandinavian Physiological Society invite participants to submit their best original scientific images for the Physiology with Flow Image Competition.
A picture can reveal what data alone can’t. Submit one or more images that bring physiological processes into clear focus - scientific, visual, and inspiring.
Prizes for winners may include cover image in Pflügers Archive, Acta Physiologica and other nice surprises
DPG and SPS invites you to submit your best original images for consideration to the
Physiology with Flow Image Competition!
Prizes will be awarded for the top images in the scientific and interpretive categories.
Submissions are due by 06 September 2026. Voting will take place at the UKE Campus at the 16-18th September!
Eligibility & Categories
- An image can be submitted in one of the three categories: scientific, interpretive (KI-enabled) and “science gone wrong”
- Each individual may submit one only image per category
- All congress attendees are welcome to submit
Permission
- You should be the owner /creator of the image and /or have full permission to submit it for this contest: it is your responsibbility to ensure there are no copyright issues associated with your image
- By entering the contest, you give DPG & SPS permission to use the image (with attribution to you) on the congress website and other digital or print media, including the DPG and/or SPS journals
How to enter
Prepare these submission requirements and Email or WeTransfer your picture(s) to c.meyer-schwesinger with following informations:
- Your name, affiliation and email adress
- Image title and short explanation of why this image is important for research in Physiology (max. 150 words)
- Image upload with your name in the file title
Judging and Winner announcements
- Deadline is Sunday 6 September at 11:59 pm Eastern Daylight Time for image submissions
- Submissions will be reviewed on site by congress participants (QR-code based)
- The winner will be announced during the posterprize session on Sunday
- Winners will receive a prize which may include a feature of their image as cover image of an issue in the DPG (Pflügers) and / or SPS journal (Acta Physiologica) and other nice surprises
